Four people were discharged from hospital after a suspected Sars outbreak
turned out to be a false alarm, health chiefs said today.
The three Asian tourists and an ambulance driver were admitted to
Edinburgh
Royal Infirmary at 4.40am today. They were kept in isolation while doctors
carried out tests to find out if they had the deadly virus but were
discharged later after being given the all-clear.
Lothian University Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the hospital at Little
France on the outskirts of the Scottish capital, said a full public health
response plan had been activated.
