Requesting Stories of Trauma and Recovery

by Frank Shiromoto <frankshiromoto@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Oct 7, 2004 at 04:18 PM

My Trauma Story

We are welcoming stories about you describing a horrific experience that
may
have caused tremendous pain, anguish and loss. We want to hear about the
challenges you conquered to face life after such trauma. This is your
personal story of the ways you overcame this trauma and how you were
changed
and perhaps wiser because of it.

We are looking for stories that tell how you recovered, your resiliency,
and
how you were able to readjust and move on after such trauma or adversity.
All
the stories will be eligible for selection in an upcoming book. All
stories
must be non-fiction.

For more information about how to submit your story or if you have
questions
regarding our research please visit us on the web at the following
address.

Who We Are and Why We Are Interested in Trauma Recovery Stories

There are currently several studies that address the issue of resiliency
and
thriving following a traumatic event. How and why we recover is only now
beginning to be understood.

The Three Authors of MyTraumaStory.com

    Judy Giacinto, M.S.
    Mark Montijo, M.A.
    Frank ****romoto, Ph.D.

All are licensed mental health professionals experienced in working with
individuals, groups and cor****ations who have experienced trauma and its
effects. Each has expressed thoughts on the question, "What specifically
leads people to get beyond the paralyzing effects of a traumatic event?"
We
are researching "that very thing, a moment, event, or person" that has
spurred you on as an individual to move back into living your life to the
fullest again. What moved you to experience joy and appreciation of
yourself
and others once again? For each of us it is often an entirely different
and
personal journey.

Your story can have a profound effect on another's healing. We are looking

forward to reading your story.

Sincerely,
Frank ****romoto, Ph.D.
