Not in any particular order, just as they come to mind...
I tackled the dishes a few days ago, for a few days.
Caught them all up, and they haven't really gotten way out of control yet.
Bought a new set of phones - was in desperate need of a phone, and found a
really good deal at the store in a flyer. Set of 3 for something like
$40,
so it was a pretty good deal. Picked up a set and they seem to work
great.
Work far better than the phone I replaced.
On the same topic, there was a lady on freecycle looking for a cordless
phone. I offered my old one, and just let her know that it did work, but
the call display is wonky (screen doesn't show up all the letters/numbers
and it often shows up as "no data" when receiving a call.) She said she'd
take it, so just waiting for it to go. She said Thursday or some time
Friday (today)
My parents got me a brand new TV for my birthday. I had no clue what size
the old one was (which had some color issues N kinda fixed with a large
magnet on the stand, the sound was wonky when starting up but fine after
it
warmed) and I guess N didn't know exactly either. I guess he told my mom
he
thought we had a 32", maybe, but I guess it must have been 27". Day after
my bday when my dad dropped the new TV off, I had someone already lined up
to pick up the old one (I figured it might be good for a video game TV or
just as a spare in the basement or something) so that went actually right
as
N and my dad were bringing the new one in.
While I was at it, I also freecycled a 19" TV that was sitting in the
basement on a shelf since the dawn of time. That one worked great and
found
it a new home.
Before the new TV came in, I went out and found a good deal at Walmart on
a
TV stand. It's a nice little stand and very sturdy. I didn't think that
the stand N had made a while back from those Pax wardrobe shelves would be
good - I didn't think it was sturdy enough and I didn't think it was big
enough to properly (and safely) hold this new TV. Set up the new stand
and
it's a perfect fit in the corner and for the TV to fit on it. N hauled
the
old stand to the basement and surprised me with putting it in the laundry
room and putting my laundry stuff on it. While he was down there he also
moved some stuff around and gave me a lot more room to move around it.
Looks quite a bit better and that stand is still useful!
Freecycled a large quilting hoop. I haven't used it for so long. I've
been
working on a different project for a while now, which doesn't require a
quilting hoop, so I found a new home for it. A lady picked it up the
other
day. I found the kids just played with it, and there wasn't a 'good'
place
to store it when not in use. Now someone will get use of it and if all
else
fails, I can always go pick a new one up in time for all of $5 or so.
Oh, here's a link to pics of my newest projects... I've been making some
diapers... They're so expensive, and I think I would rather have an extra
load or two of laundry each week than pay what it costs for diapers. So
far, the girls can only wear Pampers or cloth, so this might very well be
a
money saving thing (which is a little more im****tant than a little extra
laundry)
Plus, I'm having some fun with it!

My uncle also gave me a little mouse sander for my birthday. I had
originally borrowed a big sander from my uncle to sand down my kitchen
chairs and table. He got me my own little sander, which I think will work
even better than the one I borrowed, as it will get into small places a
lot
easier than the big one I borrowed. Now I think I will start to actually
deal with that kitchen table and chairs soon, although I haven't gotten
around to it just yet.
I think that's about it so far... Or lately. There's probably more, but
that's about it for now.
We'll be going camping next week - DS leaves on Tuesday, I think, with my
parents, and N and I will come with the girls probably on Friday afternoon
or whenever he gets off work. Just going for the weekend, and really, I
don't think I'm looking forward to that very much. Camping becomes not
fun
with 2 little ones and with me being the one that has to do almost all the
dealing with them :(
