"When He shows us His kindness, He is satisfied to have us alone as
witnesses. Is it not absurd, then, that we seek witnesses and make a
show of it when we serve Him? Let us, therefore, admire His kindliness
and give evidence of our own effort. Before all else, let us curb our
onru****ng tongues and not be always talking. 'In the multitude of words
thou shalt not escape sin.' If you have something useful to say, open
your lips; if there be no need to speak, be silent, for it is better
that way."
